At the '24 Hour' mark

she was fading...fast! Fading into a fit of giggles onto a duvet on the floor that is.

The child has determination ...& knows how to use it!
She is thrilled/excited/squealing every time she is told of another sponsor!

Of course I have had some in depth descriptions of exactly how the money she raises is going to help the children in Bangladesh.

As a Mum I am doubly proud of her! There is a computer in her room & all she needs to do is turn it on & she has net access. The green light on the wireless router hasn't flashed...not once. I haven't seen (it's pink & can't be missed) or heard the cell phone that is usually a constant source of beeps & sounds, & not a single squeak about being hungry.... just "can we please get some more Just Juice & Barley Sugar sweets Mum?"

We did! ;o)

World Visions 40 Hour Famine

This year I am going to do the 40 Hour Famine.
The rising costs in food have made it worse than ever for people in starving countries and I want to help.

Mum says that I wont last the 40 hours... she thinks that I am always hungry. We will see about that.

I have a page on the World Vision website that says what I am going to do. Gabie101
It would only let me pick one challenge for the 40 Hours so I had to pick food.

Ohhh yeah - the "Big Girls torch"

On the weekend I got to use Mum's Mini CC for the first time!!
I was a little scared at first - but then I realised that there was nothing more to be scared of than with the Hot Head. Mum helped a little bit when the glass went all wonky, but mostly she left me to it.

Yesterday I had another turn & Mum stayed away....completely. She said that there is only one way to learn, and that is by my mistakes.

This is one of them. I think I should have concentrated more on keeping the mandrel below the flame.

Wacky Sports Day

Today was wacky sports day at school. I dressed up! Would you believe that I found a pair of lime green tights in Mum's drawers? Who knew that my Mum was so adventurous...even if she does swear that she never wore them!

Topped by a pair of pink swim shorts and my big sisters t shirt and waistcoat - I thought I looked rather spiffy.....

I was not alone. I won the prize for the wackiest outfit....and Mum had laughed at me!!
I did a Duathalon dressed like this.

These are still NOT Pink !

I've been so busy enjoying friends during the holidays, that I didn't play with glass much at all!
When I did get a chance though - I wanted to try the pink glass again that Mum got for me a while back.

not pink

All I can say is HUMPH!!. Not pink at all.
Mum muttered something about Fish Pink being an improvement on this dirty gray!

Mind you, she also said that maybe I'd have more luck if I was brave enough to use her Mini CC......

Mt Somers

My friend Morgan and I went to stay with my other Nana in Mount Somers for a few days. Mount Somers is near where "Lord of the Ring" was filmed. When it was being filmed there were lots of things going on & Mount Somers got quite busy, but mostly it is a quiet little township.

I took my camera but forgot to take photo's until my Nana took us to see a special plant that doesn't flower very often. She said that my Mum would like to see it (because her and Mum have always both love their gardens) and reminded me to take my camera.
I think that Nana said that this is only the second time it has flowered in 15 years.

It's unusual.Nana was right, Mum did like to see it and she had a million questions when she next spoke to Nana Shirley. She still doesn't know what it is though ....and that drives her nuts!

Mum said not to play with my food

She didn't say a thing about not using it to prevent wrinkles & sooth the eye's though!

Oh yes - the beads, I tried pink the other day. I have some nice grey beads - I must try again.
